I hope you are doing well! I am not a newbie to Raspberry Pi s, I used them in many of our systems and I did the HW integration, but I am new to Python and just started to learn. I am working on a project that is a small demo box with a LCD screen displaying a scrolling message. I have a 4B Pi 2GB and a LCD 1602A from my Ultimate Raspberry Starter kit which I believe is over kill for this application. Could someone please recommend a more cost effective solution using a older Raspberry Pi still in production that can meet the requirements of the LCD 1602A. Also is there sample code available I can leverage for this project? I would need to implement a HW interrupt to Start/Stop the scrolling messages as well as a timeout to preserve the battery.
