Python • Re: How does a u-shaping coder work

I'm currently in the process of trying to rebuild a hero pill machine but one second hand in it was locked.

It uses three stepper motors a pump and a bunch of u-shaped encoders. I got all of the stepper motors to move but ran out of GPIO on my nodemc.
You're still working on that?

You could post a link to the encoders so that people can see what you mean. However, I expect it's a simple slotted opto switch. It has an IR LED on one side and a phototransistor on the other. When nothing blocks the slot the phototransistor detects the IR light. When the slot is blocked the phototransistor does not detect anything.
