Python • Ram allocated to /run/shm ?

In my python scripts l use ram by using /run/shm directory.

On a pi5 8GB it shows approx 4GB space available in /run/shm on a pi5 16GB approx 8GB.

Why only approx 50% of ram ? What determines it and can it be increased ?
